Stakeholder Consultation

Insight provides training and consulting services for stakeholder consultation.

With any business activity there are a number of stakeholders including clients, service providers, and other stakeholders who are impacted by the activity. Stakeholder consultation occurs through a number of channels including:

  • reviewing relevant literature (including academic and non-academic literature, minutes from business meetings, previous work, documents and resources),

  • interviews and focus groups, and

  • surveys, data science and statistics.

Every project has its own characteristics and choice of methodologies, but a standard approach involves:

  • Initial client meetings to discuss project objectives and deliverables, and logistics. This results in the development and approval of a Project Plan.

  • Literature reviews and discussion with initial stakeholders to obtain a thorough understanding of the context for this specific project and relevant project methodologies, and to review the characteristics of similar recent projects.

  • The development of project-specific methods for more stakeholder engagement and data collection.

  • Stakeholder engagement and data collection (using a wide range of communication mediums including face-to-face, online, telephone, and mail).

  • Data preparation and analysis.

  • Reporting (including development of a draft report, obtaining client feedback, and report revision)

Such a project involves regular meetings and communication with the client to discuss milestones met, and strategies for addressing obstacles encountered.
